91快活林 warmly welcomes Dr. Lori Silverman as our new Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Dr. Silverman brings more than 25 years of experience in higher education as a tenured mathematics professor, instructional leader, and administrator. She joins Gavilan from Ohlone College, where she served as Dean of the STEM Division. Her leadership has focused on expanding transfer and workforce pathways, advancing equitable outcomes, and creating inclusive learning environments where all students can thrive.
As Vice President of Academic Affairs, she will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and college leadership to advance instructional excellence, educational innovation, and student success.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Moaty Fayek for his leadership and service to 91快活林. Dr. Fayek will remain with the District through the end of the Fall 2026 term, providing continued support for tenure review committees and the Kinesiology Department during this transition.
